For four decades

For more than five decades, the Indian Oilseeds & Produce Exporters Association, known as IOPEA in trade circles, has been the national agency for promotion of export of oilseeds from India.

An autonomous, non-profit making body, it serves as the common forum for the Indian oilseeds exporters, foreign buyers, the Indian government, R&D agencies for oilseeds in India and international agencies such as the WTO, FOSFA, GAFTA.

IOPEA maintains a close liaison with foreign buyers and their representative organisations for mutually beneficial exchange of views and market information.

A regular interaction is done with scientists for R&D on oilseeds, surveyors, superintendents, manufacturers of processing and grading equipments. Its focus, as always, is commitment to quality upgradation on an on-going basis.

It also works in close liaison with the government, especially in the area of policy making. IOPEA takes an active part in the framing of local contracts for the sale/purchase of HPS groundnuts and sesame seeds. Also when necessary, IOPEA performs the role of an arbitrator.

Recently IOPEA has implemented the system of award for outstanding export performance.

The Peanut Councils of Germany, Netherlands, UK and USA have recognised IOPEA as the representative of exporters of HPS Groundnuts from India.

Since 1991, IOPEA has been functioning as the India liaison office of FOFSA International, London.
